Magnetic agitators have been specially developed for use in the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology to gently and sterilely mix sensitive products. They enable compliant documentation of the stirring process according to FDA and GMP standards.

The magnetic agitators are designed to function continuously in the constant operation of the production process. Even under challenging environmental conditions, they work almost maintenance-free for years. The “mobile pharma vessels with magnetic agitator” system offers four different container sizes: 20l, 40l, 60l, and 80l.

The integrated fault notification system of the stirring rod combines the benefits of magnetic drive with the safety of a mechanically coupled agitator. Sterility is maintained as there is no shaft passage into the product space. Cleaning and sterilization of the stirring rod are simple, without the complicated bearing geometry of impeller agitators. The design is CIP- and SIP-friendly.

A magnetic agitator system can be used for multiple process containers since the drive unit is not permanently attached to the vessel. The fault notification system warns of a potential interruption in the magnetic coupling between the drive and stirring rod, which can occur in magnetic stirrers and lead to uncontrolled cessation of the stirring function.

The “Stirrer Rod Catch” enables automatic restoration of the stirring function. A time sequence control ensures linear speed reduction at filling stations, especially for adjuvant-containing vaccines, to avoid foaming as the product level in the container decreases.

The clear documentation of the stirring process is done according to FDA and GMP guidelines by recording the speed profile and fault signal voltage using a recorder.
